The customer

Fransylva is the only organization representing all private forest owners in all their components and diversity. It informs, defends, and represents them.

Fransylva brings together 15 regional unions, 73 departmental or interdepartmental unions in mainland France, and 3 structures in the overseas departments (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Reunion).

Fransylva Services develops tools and support to enable forest owners to sustainably manage their forests through Sylvassur insurance products and forest renewal aids.

The issue

Forest renewal aids are distributed by each of the organizations carrying these aids, whether they are public or private, but there is no centralized and exhaustive directory. It is therefore very difficult for a forest owner to know all the aids to which they would be entitled for their project and therefore to benefit from them.

Summary of the proposed solution

Building on this observation, Fransylva Services came up with the idea of cataloging all aids in a structured database, in order to offer a forestry aid simulator where a landowner could describe their project to determine the aids they would be eligible for in order to carry it out.

The solution involved creating:

A web-based back-office application was developed to catalogue and structure forestry renewal aids according to eligibility criteria.

A simulator allowing, through a questionnaire, to determine the characteristics of a forestry project and match them with the eligibility criteria of the aids to propose a relevant list.

FRANSYLVA

It has been about a year and a half since our company, Fransylva Services, has been working with Nextaura on the development of a forestry aid simulator. The Nextaura team has been attentive to our needs, managed to solve the technical challenges of the request, and maintained effective communication throughout the development. Nextaura has thus developed a powerful and scalable tool that meets our expectations! We highly recommend them!

The details of the proposed solution and the approach adopted

orange arrow

The initial step of exchanges with Fransylva and case study enabled the construction of a specification document for the solution, along with an initial prototyping of the simulator, particularly to verify the feasibility of the initial idea.

orange arrow

The development of the solution was then carried out following the agile methodology; jointly defining the backlog and sprints with Fransylva.

orange arrow

Particular attention was paid to the UX design and UI design of the simulator itself, including specific user tests.

orange arrow

The back office was the subject of managing a large number of parameters in order to give Fransylva’s users and partners as much autonomy as possible: both the input of aids and the behavior of the simulator are entirely dynamic based on these parameters.
